The Live Music Show curated by Ruben G. Kielmannsegge aka Watch TV
this is a network awesome original presentation
from the curator:
I recently discovered Network Awesome through a friend, and I was surprised that almost all the contents were interesting to me, some of them fascinating. I felt like i was going to enjoy TV again. So I inmediately mailed NA to just try to find a way to get involved with the project somehow. After some conversation with Jason Forrest I was offered to curate one of NA's Live Music Shows. I said yes, of course, and as I couldn't find a single exciting theme for the curating, I decided to just show the performances/shows I've seen throughout my years as a musician which influenced or impressed me, those who unconsciously stayed in my head and never left. I did a memory effort, more than a research work. Videos I already saw in the past, and videos I could find from artists I've actually seen live. After I compiled all I could gather from my memory, I selected the ones i thought would work best as a whole. So here you are, a display of my major influences since I was 18 until I got (ouch!) 39, organized to make an easier flow. Hope you enjoy it as I enjoyed them.
Ruben G. Kielmannsegge (aka Watch TV) is one of the pioneer producers of beatz music in Spain. He worked under many nicknames, depending on the people he collaborated with (Nava, Headtric, El Gran Lapofsky, Mondomo, among others). He started making music using the sampler as his only instrument. Picking sounds from other recordings, movies or radio shows, and transforming them to suit his own compsitions. Very influenced by cinema and some TV shows, he has released 5 albums since 1996, juggling in the following years mostly with jazz, funk, soul, hiphop, broken beats and exotica. Watch TV has worked also as a producer / remixer, usually working for the spanish record labels Hitop and Lovemonk, has also collaborated with artists like Quantic, Kissey Asplund, Dublex Inc. or Wagon Cookin'
