Live Music Show - Joy Division

Gawky genius Ian Curtis, lead singer of Joy Division, has not been preserved in celluloid so well (though the Anton Corbjin movie about his life is a touching, occasionally heartbreaking tribute). When you think of artists too sensitive to function, Curtis is who you should picture. Epileptic seizures, marital woes, and depression drove him to commit suicide on the eve of Joy Division's first American tour (right before the release of Closer), leaving his bandmates with the choice to break up or move on. They opted to continue and renamed themselves New Order; you'll find plenty of videos of them on YouTube. But each is missing a decidedly real and strikingly raw mixture of emotion and talent that they only had when Curtis was at the helm. In case you forgot (or never knew) how incredible Joy Division was live, here's a modest collection of their finer moments.
