Dinah! (called Dinah & Friends from 1979-1980) is a daytime talk show hosted by singer and actress Dinah Shore, which aired in American syndication markets through 20th Century Fox Television (mostly on CBS O&Os[1]) from its premiere on September 9, 1974 until the summer of 1980. Dinah! aired for 90 minutes each weekday.
Like other syndicated shows of the day, such as The Merv Griffin Show and The Mike Douglas Show, Dinah! was focused on interviews of celebrities who were invited to appear on the show. Also, many popular singing acts would receive exposure on Dinah! by first singing a song or two, and then sitting for an interview with Shore. A professional singer herself, Shore would usually sing at least one song on each program, either greeting the television viewing audience or saying goodbye to them at the end; she sometimes dueted with musical guests. Johnny Gilbert served as the show's announcer.
